Recreation Consultant at the Culture and Leisure Administration

About the Position

The Culture and Leisure Administration is currently seeking a recreation consultant who is really good at IT and digitalization, enjoys both finance and administration and structure, sees it as a given to provide good service to citizens and associations, and has good knowledge of and interest in association life.

The role of the recreation consultant leads to a large network within the association community and internally within Örebro Municipality. In your role as a recreation consultant, you will operate within a broad area, including cultural, sports, and community-based/ethnic and social associations. Associations in both urban and rural areas, established as well as newly formed.

As a recreation consultant with us, you should be able to work broadly with processing association grants and provide other forms of association support and collaborate with civil society based on emerging needs. Since we operate within a politically governed organization, administrative work is important to ensure democratic, legally secure, and transparent processing. It is also important that you have a personal interest in IT and the possibilities of digitalization as we now take steps to work more efficiently with both grant processing and follow-ups and audits.

Examples of Job Duties

  • process association grants
  • provide guidance to citizens and associations
  • plan and conduct meetings with associations and other information initiatives
  • promote the use of self-service tools
  • work in operational systems: Interbook GO, Raindance, W3D3, etc.
  • object specialist for our grant system
  • develop our administrative processes using various tools in Office 365, primarily working in Excel

About the Workplace

The Support, Development, and Collaboration unit is located within the Culture and Leisure Administration and works, among other things, with support to the management in various development and coordination issues, support to civil society/associations through grant management, and making suitable premises available as well as information and development initiatives. The unit consists of 17 employees and a unit manager.

We are located in nice modern office premises centrally in Örebro, directly adjacent to the Central Station. The work is activity-based with adapted zones for active meetings and workshops with colleagues in active zones, regular work with computers, phones, and discussions with colleagues in normal zones, as well as quiet zones when you want to work completely undisturbed. Qualifications

You will work independently but also be part of a well-knit team. Since the tasks can change quickly, you need to like change, be flexible, and be able to prioritize and reprioritize quickly. But you also need to be able to enjoy periods with more routine tasks and administration. You need to be calm, attentive, and accommodating in your approach, but also able to make decisions that you can clearly explain and justify to the parties involved. To thrive in this role, you should have a solution-oriented approach and a genuine interest in association life. The position requires very good digital competence. Planning and structure are a given in your daily life.

Requirements:

  • completed upper secondary education
  • documented experience of working with association issues or other work that the employer deems relevant in areas such as finance or IT
  • experience of working in Office 365
  • driver's license B

Desirable:

  • knowledge of associations
  • experience of working with various types of associations
  • experience of working in municipal or other public operations
  • experience of working in the operational system Interbook GO
  • knowledge of and experience in advanced work with Excel, automation in Office 365, and other system-related development of work methods
  • knowledge of and experience in finance related to association activities
